BLUU Bar in the Northern Quarter has quietly closed its doors, but not for long - it's set to reopen as Foundry Project next month.

Located on the corner of Thomas Street and High Street, in the old Smithfield Market buildings, Bluu has been a staple of the area for more than a decade.

It's now preparing to reopen as Foundry Project, which also has sites in Edinburgh and Harrogate.

The site is spread over two floors, with the basement formerly branded as the Smithfield Social Club.

In a licencing application submitted to the council, Foundry Project has plans to divide up the basement level with fixed screens and add a pizza oven in on the ground floor.

It will serve an all-day food menu - breakfast and brunch items will include breakfast baps, Turkish eggs, and Americanstyle pancakes, while during the day there'll be burgers, pizzas and salads. …
