THIS was the scene of destruction left behind after a shop was ram-raided.

These dramatic images show the aftermath of the incident, which happened at the Co-operative food store on Vernon Road in Greenmount, Bury.

The building's shutters were ripped off and a green 'cash zone' cash machine was on the opposite side of the road in pieces having been dragged from inside.

Smashed pumpkins, glass and other debris - including a shop door - lay scattered across the pavement outside, cordoned off by blue and white police tape.

Officers were called to the scene just after 3am yesterday.

It is understood they are searching for a group of men in a flat back truck, although no descriptions of the suspects have yet been released. …
