¦ October 25, 1972: Everton football players crowd into Strawberry Studios in Stockport to record the disc Forever Everton.

The song was written by Mancunian Graham Gouldman of 10cc fame, who was working at Strawberry with future fellow band members Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Crème.

Gouldman even paid for the bus to take the players to and from Goodison Park.

The song, which sold only a few thousand copies, failed to make the charts.

But it's still played along with Z-Cars and It's a Grand Old Team at the start of every Everton home game.
