CITY'S 1-0 win at Tottenham will not be remembered for its quality of football, but may prove crucial in the Premier League title race.

But as well as the significance the victory could have for the team, it also marked a record-breaking achievement for one of City's players of the season so far.

Aymeric Laporte had a shaky start to life at the Etihad - particularly in the Champions League defeat at Liverpool - but has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet this campaign alongside John Stones in defence.

The Frenchman, who joined City for a then club-record £57m fee, has been a rock at the back and has even scored two goals as City sit top of the Premier League and their Champions League group.
