LOIS Maynard came off the bench to score a late equaliser for Salford City at Eastleigh and extend The Ammies' unbeaten National League run to 16 games.

After a goalless first half, the hosts took the lead early in the second through Ben Williamson as he tapped in a saved shot, and they had further chances to extend that lead before Maynard's late strike.

Salford's Nathan Pond is yet to taste defeat as an Ammie and had a header ruled out for offside before Adam Rooney glanced one across goal. At the other end Chris Neal was kept busy as he denied both Williamson and Paul McCallum.

With the pressure mounting on the Spitfires late on, it was Maynard, coming off the bench for his 50th Salford appearance, who delivered with a shot from the top of the area that nestled low into the bottom left corner after Eastleigh struggled to clear their lines. …
