Danns Hails Team-Mates as Shakers Batter Macc

BURY captain Neil Danns has said that his side showed great character during their impressive 4-1 victory away at Macclesfield on Saturday.

Danns registered his first goals of the season in the match - slotting in a rebound for the opener after 14 minutes, and then added a second by firing past Macclesfield goalkeeper Rhys Taylor from 20 yards just four minutes later.

A free-kick from Jay O'Shea made it three just before half time and then Nicky Maynard tapped home Callum McFadzean's cross on the hour mark to secure all three points for Ryan Lowe's side.

And after falling to a disappointing defeat after dominating much of the game last weekend against Port Vale, Danns was delighted at the character shown by his team this time around.

He said: "It's a great result after last week's disappointment, the boys showed great character out there to bounce back and get straight back to winning ways. …
