Body Found in Marshland Feared to Be Missing Man

POLICE believe that a man found dead in marshland is missing man John Peter Heyes.

Shortly after 3.15pm on Sunday, police received a report that a body had been found in marshland in Marsh Green, Wigan.

Emergency services attended, but the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be the body of 35-year-old John Peter Heyes - and police are now appealing for information.

In the police appeal at the time of his disappearance, GMP said that John has learning difficulties and epilepsy.

He also has cerebral palsy, which causes him to walk with a limp.

John was last seen walking along Marsh Green Road at 10pm on Monday, October 22.

Police say that the circumstances surrounding his death are currently unclear and a Home Office post mortem will be taking place on Monday. …
