Storm Put Nottingham Defeat Behind Them to Bring Down Flyers

MANCHESTER Storm secured their sixth win in seven home games as they beat Fife Flyers 3-2 at the Storm Shelter in Altrincham.

Having lost 3-0 at Nottingham Panthers in the Challenge Cup 24 hours earlier, Evan Richardson, Mike Hammond and captain Dane Byers netted to see off the Flyers.

"Opposing teams hate coming to Altrincham and our players and fans maximise the home advantage," said Storm head coach Ryan Finnerty.

"The fans can get right up to the action behind the screens and the atmosphere at the Fife game was incredible. The fans made a noise from start to finish."

The defeat to Nottingham wasn't too damaging, with Storm having already qualified for the knock-out stages of the competition.
