MONDAY Comedy / Luisa Omielan: Politics For Bitches Comedian Luisa Omielan is, by her own admission, not a natural political animal. "It took me ages to work out the difference between Tories and Conservatives," she joked (perhaps) recently about her disengagement. However, due to tragic personal circumstances, the acclaimed comedian has felt compelled to enter the political arena of late. Last year, Omielan took her mother to A&E where it was discovered she had stomach and bowel cancer. She died seven weeks later. Angry with "the system that let her down", Omielan resolved to tackle it head on.

The result is her brilliant new stand-up show, Politics For Bitches, which has also spawned a BBC3 series of the same name. Powerful and provocative, the show uses her personal loss as a springboard to dive deep into modern British politics - everything from social mobility and the housing crisis to the state of the NHS and attitudes to assisting dying. …
