ACCLAIMED meat-free restaurant The Allotment opened up its new home last weekend after shifting HQ from Stockport to Manchester.

The vegan venue - which won CityLife's restaurant of the year award before scooping The Times' best veggie restaurant gong this year - is now on Lloyd Street in the old Buca di Pizza spot.

Chef Matthew Nutter's plantbased menu includes dishes such as fried tofu, roasted coffee, chocolate and smoked cheese or confit aubergine, nutmeg roasted cauliflower and pickled walnut.

You can buy three courses for £30, seven for £48 and 10 for £65.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Victors will open in Alderley Edge in the old Alchemist building on London Road.

The people who run Manchester's Neighbourhood restaurant and bar are promising a similar offering to that and the current Victors venue in Hale - lots of cocktails and an all day menu with an American slant. …
