St. Louis Man Accused of 'Alarming' Number of Vehicle Break-Ins

ST. LOUIS - A man from St. Louis has been accused in federal court of stealing six guns and electronics during more than six vehicle break-ins since August.

Conyade L. Currie, 25, of the 2800 block of Victor Street, was charged by complaint Oct. 18. He was indicted Oct. 25 on charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession of a stolen firearm.

Currie's attorney, Bobby Bailey, said Friday that his client had pleaded not guilty to the charges and that videos of the break-ins were "inconclusive" as to the identities of the thieves.

Charging documents say that Currie stole bags and electronics from a Honda Odyssey on Aug. 9 and a Subaru on Aug. 11. On Aug. 11, Currie stole a handgun and other items from a Ford F150, and another handgun from a Chevrolet Silverado on Oct. …
