HALIFAX. x-16s. Nova Scotia's premier says he's hoping fishermen end a blockade of survey boats hired to examine a route for an effluent pipeline for the Northern Pulp mill near Pictou. Stephen McNeil says he'd like fishermen to let the seismic research in the Northumberland Strait go ahead so a scientific review can take place.

TAG: McNeil says it's up to the mill to decide whether to call in the R-C-M-P to end the blockade. However, he says his government doesn't plan to extend a deadline of having the entire project finished by the end of January 2020 if the blockade causes delays.
