PAUL Pogba's absence meant United struggled to pass the ball through midfield against City, according to Gary Neville.

The former United defender believes the French World Cup winner was always going to be crucial to any dreams of a derby day victory at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Reds were uninspiring in Pogba's absence and managed just one shot on target as they fell to a convincing 3-1 defeat.

And speaking after the match, Neville revealed just why Jose Mourinho missed the charismatic midfielder so much.
