OLDHAM Athletic loanee Callum Lang said the result was the most important as his team survived an Emirates FA Cup scare, after coming from behind to beat National League South outfit Hampton & Richmond Borough in the first round.

Second half goals from Dan Gardner and Lang saved Frankie Bunn's side from leaving the competition at the first attempt, after Chris Dickson opened the scoring early on.

Lang said: "It took the whole game but thankfully we got the result in the end and that's the main thing."

The home side took the lead through Dickson, who struck home from the penalty spot, after Tyrell Miller-Rodney went down easily from Lang's soft shove inside the area.

Lang admitted: "I was a bit unsure on the penalty and decisions didn't seem to go for us. …
