SAP buys Qualtrics for $8 billion

SAP SE, Europe's biggest technology company, has agreed to buy U.S. enterprise software company Qualtrics International Inc. for $8 billion in cash. Qualtrics, which makes software for surveying customers and analyzing employee sentiment, expects full year 2018 revenue to exceed $400 million and projects a forward growth rate of greater than 40 percent.

Athenahealth will sell to Veritas, Elliott for $5.7 billion

Private-equity firm Veritas Capital and Elliott Management Corp. will acquire Athenahealth Inc. for $135 per share, ending a sometimes-contentious process to push the health records company into a sale. The all-cash transaction values Athenahealth at about $5.7 billion.
