NICKY Butt admits Manchester United are no longer the biggest football team in the city.

The treble-winning midfield admits the rise of Man City is impossible to ignore in recent seasons, and that there is a recognisable power shift between the fierce rivals.

United were clearly second best as they succumbed to a powerful City display on Sunday afternoon, a result which left Jose Mourinho's side 12 points behind their noisy neighbours early in the season.

And Butt, who is United's head of coaching at the youth academy, admits his former side need to use their current situation as motivation to regain dominance in English football.
