As wildfires continued to rage in both ends of California, officials have released another grim statistic.

They're reporting another six deaths in northern California, raising the death toll there to 29 which matches California's record for deaths in a single fire.

Another 228 people remain unaccounted for as crews search for bodies around hard-hit Paradise.

Statewide, the death toll has reached 31, with two people killed in a wildfire that began Thursday in southern California.
