Armed Officers Called to Street after 'Gun Threats'

ARMED police swooped after reports a man was beaten and threatened with a gun.

Officers were scrambled to Ladhill Lane close to Greenfield cricket club, in Saddleworth, following reports that a man had been threatened and assaulted, and that a firearm had been brandished.

Enquiries led officers to two addresses nearby where a gun and drugs have been found, according to GMP.

Crime scenes were set up at Chew Brook Drive and Grove Street.

Residents reported that police had been guarding properties on both streets while forensics specialists have been at work.

Two men and two women have been arrested and they remain in custody for questioning, say police.They are being questioned on suspicion of assault and drugs-related offences.

A GMP spokesman said quantity of class A and B drugs as well as a firearm were seized at the addresses on Friday afternoon. …
