'I'd Pay a Lot of Money to Watch Silva Play Football'

JOHN Stones says he would pay 'a lot of money' to watch City team-mate David Silva play football.

The Spanish midfielder has shown no signs of slowing down ahead of his 33rd birthday in January, with seven goals in 15 City appearances this season.

Silva has been central to the Blues' success since arriving from Valencia in 2010, and Stones said it was an easy decision when asked which of his team-mates he would pay to watch.

"David Silva. 100 per cent," the England defender, who signed for City from Everton in 2016, told Premier League Productions' Fanmail feature.

"I'd pay a lot of money to watch him play for the rest of his life."

Silva announced his retirement from international football in August and his success with La Roja was marked with a ceremonial kick-off in Spain's game against Bosnia and Herzegovina in his home town of Las Palmas on Sunday night. …
