(Canada-Post-Rotating-Strikes)

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is keeping up its rotating strikes, four weeks and a day after they were launched in their ongoing contract dispute with Canada Post.

CUP-W said its legal strike activities will continue in various cities today until "we achieve the collective agreements that we deserve."

It says Canada Post can resolve this dispute by coming to the table to address the union's concerns that include injuries, overburdening and precarious work.

Amid calls from business and retail for back-to-work legislation, Labour Minister Patty Hajdu (HY'-doo) renewed her call for the two sides to continue bargaining for now.(5)

(Sask-Indigenous-Pot)

Saskatchewan's justice minister will meet next week with the chief of a First Nation that has opened an unlicensed cannabis store.

Don Morgan says he and Anthony Cappo of the Muscowpetung Saulteaux (muss-koh-PEE'-ting SOH'-toh) First Nation will discuss the issue Monday in Regina, with hopes the controversy doesn't end up in court.

Morgan says he would rather talk things over, and see the store shut down and apply for a licence through the ordinary course.

The store opened last week on the First Nation's land northeast of Regina, with Cappo citing a sovereign right to make its own cannabis rules.

But, the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority warns provincial and federal legislation still applies on reserve land -- meaning, the First Nation must have a provincial licence to legally open a pot store and its cannabis can only come from a grower with a federal licence. (5)

Another wintry blast of snow is coming to parts of the Maritimes today.

Environment Canada says 15 to 25 centimetres of snow is expected in parts of eastern New Brunswick, northern Nova Scotia and in Prince Edward Island.

It's forecast to begin around lunchtime and will taper to flurries by tomorrow morning. …
