A PLACE in the FA Trophy first round and £5,000 was on offer for the region's National League North sides.

At Edgeley Park, Stockport County hoped to take advantage of a Chorley side that had conceded seven against Doncaster Rovers in midweek. County took the lead through Ash Palmer before Jamie Stott and Adam Thomas added two in quick succession to seal a 3-0 victory.

Altrincham continued their scoring form against league leaders Bradford Park Avenue at Moss Lane.

John Johnston converted an early penalty before Jordan Hulme got on the scoresheet just a day after his 28 th birthday. Josh Hancock grabbed the third and substitute Kallum Mantack made it 4-0 late on.

Ashton United were pummelled 5-0 by Boston United at Hurst Cross. Max Wright and Nicky Walker both grabbed braces and Gavin Allot wrapped up proceedings early in the second half to send Ashton out. …
