BURY 4 CHELTENHAM 1 BURY climbed into the play-off spots after making it six games unbeaten at Gigg Lane.

Nicky Maynard put in a man-of-the-match performance and the summer signing made it eight goals in 10 games as the Shakers eased past a strong Cheltenham side.

It was a lively start for both teams, but it was Ryan Lowe' men who struck first seven minutes into the game.

Some great work from Byron Moore on the right saw him square it to Chris Stokes, who tapped the ball into the back of the net.

Despite dominating possession, Bury found themselves all square when Cheltenham winger Jordan Forster whipped in a delightful cross which was headed home by Chris Clements.

The Shakers could have been awarded a penalty when Moore was brought down by Robins defender Will Boyle, but five minutes later Bury found themselves back in the lead with top scorer Maynard making it 2-1 before the break. …
