ST. LOUIS > Ex-worker gets 3 months for misuse of ambulance district's credit card - A former employee of the Washington County Ambulance District was sentenced Tuesday to three months in prison for misusing the district credit card.

U.S. District Judge Catherine Perry told Charlena "Charli" Gum, 44, that the sentence of probation sought by her and her lawyer was "not sufficient."

"I think it's important you understand that crimes have consequences," Perry told her.

Under the recommended sentencing guidelines, she could have faced up to six months behind bars. Perry also fined Gum $1,000 and ordered her to repay $15,000. Gum pleaded guilty in August to a charge of access device fraud and admitted making "significant" personal purchases with a district credit card. …
