A LANDLORD has been fined after furniture and waste from one of his rental properties was found fly-tipped in north Manchester.

The huge pile of rubbish was discovered illegally dumped on grass land off a side street in Harpurhey.

Tahsin Ali Jawdet, 57, has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 in fines and costs after it was traced back to one of his properties. He admitted paying unlicensed removal men to dispose of the garbage.

The waste - which included tables, wooden cabinets, soft furnishings and other rubbish - was discovered on Vauxhall Street by officers working for Manchester council's waste contractor Biffa in January.

While sifting through it, a document linked the waste to a property owned by Jawdet on Chapel Street, Levenshulme. …
