(Huawei-Meng-Court)

A jailed Chinese technology executive will have to wait at least another day to see if she will be granted bail.

A second day-long hearing Monday has been adjourned until Tuesday.

Meng Wanzhou (MUNG' wan-JOH'), the chief financial officer of telecommunications giant Huawei (WHA'-way) and daughter of its founder, was detained December 1st at Vancouver International Airport at the request of the United States.

Washington alleges she used a Hong Kong shell company to sell equipment to Iran in violation of U-S sanctions and misled banks about the company's business dealings in Iran. (19)

Ottawa is being asked to look into the transfer of child sex-killer Michael Rafferty from a maximum-security prison to a medium-security facility.

Rafferty was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 in the 2009 kidnapping, sexual assault and first-degree murder of eight-year-old Tori Stafford of Woodstock, Ontario.

In the Commons, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says he will investigate the matter.

This comes just weeks after Rafferty's co-accused, Terri-Lynne McClintic, was sent back to prison from an Indigenous healing lodge after a public outcry.

Rodney Stafford wrote a raging Facebook post that he learned Monday of Rafferty's transfer, saying he only received the information because he requested it. (19)

(Canada-Post-Talks)

Labour Minister Patty Hajdu (HY'-doo) has announced the appointment of an industrial-relations heavyweight to resolve the Canada Post dispute.

Elizabeth MacPherson is a former chair of the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

Hajdu says she remains hopeful the two sides will be able to negotiate new agreements and she will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Canada Post says it will ''fully participate'' in the mediation process.

CUP-W says it will reluctantly do so, in a bid to void arbitration. …
