Bjerre Aims for Title Bid on Return to 'Fantastic' Belle Vue

KENNETH Bjerre has revealed he intended to give British Speedway a miss in 2019, but reconsidered to accept a return to Belle Vue which, he says, was the 'only Premiership club I wanted to race for'.

The Danish international was ruled out of the Aces' plans last year because of the 'one eightpoint rider per team' rule, and had a brief stint with Leicester before stepping away from the sport in the UK.

Bjerre says he's delighted to have made the cut for the season ahead and comes into the team on a bargain 7.02 average to line up among the new-look septet's top three riders.

He said: "I was disappointed to have missed out on a team spot last year, but to be fair the whole season was one to forget for me and I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to race in the UK this year. …
