WINNIPEG. x-11s. An appeal is underway in the case of a Winnipeg woman convicted of hiding the remains of six babies in a rented storage locker. Andrea Giesbrecht (GEEZ'-brekt) was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison after workers at a U-haul storage facility found the remains in tubs and containers. Her lawyer, Greg Brodsky, told the Manitoba Court of Appeal today Giesbrecht was not trying to dispose of the bodies, and should not have been convicted.

TAG: The trial was told the infants were at or near full term, were genetically linked to Giesbrecht, and had been carried at different times over several years.
