UNITED Airlines is boosting the number of seats available on its flights from Manchester to New York by introducing a bigger plane.

The airline is increasing seating capacity for next summer, with the introduction of the wide-body Boeing 767-400 to its the daily nonstop service to Newark Liberty Airport.

It will replace the 169-seater Boeing 757-200 currently operating the route.

United's 767-400 aircraft has a total of 240 seats, with 39 flat-bed seats in United Polaris business class and 201 seats in United Economy, including 70 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space.

Bob Schumacher, managing director sales U.K. and Ireland, said: "The introduction of the Boeing 767-400 aircraft is the most significant increase in capacity on our nonstop Manchester - New York/Newark service in over a decade and underscores our commitment to Manchester and the North-West of England. …
