AN elderly woman who collapsed in her home was rescued by a delivery driver who had come to drop off her shopping.

Jean, 84, had passed out shortly before Asda delivery driver, Arthur Kennedy-Anielak, arrived at her home in Hyde with her groceries. Despite insisting that she was fine, the driver stayed with Jean to make sure she was okay, spurring her on to contact someone for help.

After contacting 111, Jean was admitted to Tameside Hospital within the hour and is now thought to be making a good recovery.

Colleagues at the Asda Hyde superstore on Greenfield Street received a heart-warming letter from Jean, praising the help and kindness she received.

She said: "I was feeling really ill that day. I passed out and as I was coming round I saw the Asda van arriving. …
