Tiny Home Stolen from St. Louis Is Found in Jefferson County

The tiny house that thieves stole from St. Louis on Saturday has been recovered in Jefferson County.

Sheriff Dave Marshak said detectives found the home Wednesday morning in House Springs. An anonymous tipster helped them find it, he said.

A towing company was taking it to the owner free of charge, "giving the owner an early Christmas Present," Marshak said in a tweet.

There was no word on suspects. Marshak said police continued to investigate.

The home's owner, Meghan Panu, had spent the past two years and some $20,000 crafting what she planned to make her residence in just a few months.

Early Saturday morning, the house -- built on a trailer -- was parked near the corner of Michigan and Gravois avenues outside Refab, a popular spot for home remodeling supplies. …
