Wqed Show Celebrates 'Mr. Rogers'

WQED-TV will premiere the half-hour "Friends and Neighbors" (8 p.m., Dec. 27). It's another celebration of the 50th anniversary of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood." Produced by WQED, "Friends and Neighbors" includes archival footage and memories from the show's cast members. "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" was produced at WQED from 1968 through 2001.

Peak or pause?

Is it a peak or a pause?

The number of scripted series, per FX's research department, rose from 487 in 2017 to 495 in 2018, failing to cross the 500 TV series mark as expected. With some outlets pulling back on scripted (see: YouTube), one could argue we've hit the peak, but with Disney, WarnerMedia and Apple expected to launch new streaming services in 2019, it may be a pause before the expansion continues.
