P04 - (StatCan-Inflation-November) TORONTO. x-15s. The annual pace of inflation slowed considerably last month to 1.7 per cent as upward pressure from higher gasoline prices eased off. T-D senior economist James Marple says softening inflation combined with other recent economic developments will encourage the Bank of Canada to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged at the January 9th policy meeting -- and could keep it on hold until March.
