REGINA - Saskatchewan RCMP say officers will be separated after serious events such as a shooting following a review into an Indigenous man's death.

Brydon Whitstone died in an RCMP shooting in October 2017 after crashing through two police cars following a pursuit.

Manitoba RCMP reviewed the case and found that -- contrary to RCMP policy -- officers met for a debrief afterwards.

Saskatchewan RCMP say the debrief was intended to ensure officers involved in the shooting were OK.

The review recommended officers be reminded about keeping members separated -- something Saskatchewan RCMP say they have done.

They say they don't believe the meeting following the shooting affected the investigation into Whitstone's death. …
