Man Fighting for Life after Tanker Crash

A MAN was fighting for his life in hospital after his car was involved in a crash with a fuel tanker in Trafford Park.

The collision, involving a blue Vauxhall Meriva and fuel tanker, took place on Trafford Park Road just before 6am yesterday.

We have Police, the fire service and paramedics attended and a 42-year-old man, who was driving the Vauxhall, was taken to hospital.

The driver of the tanker remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.

Police shut Trafford Park Road in both directions, between Churchill Way and Tenax Circle, while the damaged vehicles were recovered and investigation work took place.

Pc Karl Horner, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We have specially-trained officers supporting the man and his family in hospital and our thoughts are with them all as he receives treatment. …
