NAT101 - (Indonesia-Tsunami) (NOT FOR ONLINE USE) SOUTHAMPTON, UK. x-10s. More than 220 people were killed in the tsunami striking Indonesia on Saturday, and that number expected to rise as many are still missing. The disaster came quickly and with little warning, hitting the coastal area where many were gathered, also killing members of Indonesian pop band Seventeen, who were swept offstage in the middle of a concert. The cause of the tsunami, however, was quite small. Doctor Simon Boxall, a Principal Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton's National Oceanography Centre, says it happened as part of an unfortunate combination of natural elements.
