Donio, Michael F. passed away Sunday in his home, surrounded by loved ones. Born in 1947 in Summit, NJ, Michael was a football star who went on to play at the University of Kentucky, of which he remained an avid fan throughout his life. He served briefly as a high school history teacher before moving on to a lengthy career in sales, where his friendly presence and keen ability to speak with people of all kinds made him both beloved and successful. As an accomplished and well-respected lacrosse coach at both MICDS and CBC, "Donio" mentored hundreds of young men with his good humor, unflagging devotion, and gentle wisdom. Most of all, he was a true and kind friend to all who met him, and the warmth of his laughter will be missed for years to come. Michael is survived by his mother Eleanor Donio (Joe); his father Michael Donio; his children, Michael "Mike" Donio (Celia) and Chrissie "Crick" Staley (Kelly) and their mother Tina Gilbert; his grandchildren Emilia, Natalie, Rhett, and Liam; his sister Joanne Hammer and his niece Kimberly "Kimmie" Rodriguez; his half-siblings Michele Boyd (Randy), Melissa Pedigo (Gerald), and Matthew Donio; his cherished longtime partner Randy Costas and her children, Keith and Taylor. …
