Academy Duo Train with First Team at Carrington

UNITED rookies RoShaun Williams and DJ Buffonge trained with the firstteam at Carrington on Friday.

Mancunian Williams, 20, featured in United's pre-season tour of the United States, while Londoner Buffonge, also 20, joined United from Fulham three years ago and has played regularly for the reserves in recent seasons. Buffonge started his career in Arsenal's academy.

Forward Angel Gomes, 18, also participated in United's session after his cameo in the Boxing Day win over Huddersfield. Gomes, who has made three substitute appearances for the firstteam, has scored five and assisted three for the Under-23s in Premier League 2 this term.

Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reiterated his commitment to the United academy and said some teenagers are not too far off the first-team.

"As Sir Matt once said: 'If they're good enough their old enough,'" Solskjaer said. …
