UNITED will not announce the appointment of their new manager until this season has finished, according to TALKSPORT.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed interim manager before Christmas following Jose Mourinho's sacking, with a contract until the end of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino is the favourite to land the job on a long-term basis, but United are determined not to unsettle the camp by announcing an appointment before this season has finished.

Ole Gunnar Executive vice chairman Ed Woodward spoke to TALKSPORT host Jim White recently and the broadcaster reported details of the conversation.

Woodward is also said to have told White that the 'top people in the game' want the United job on a permanent basis.

"Ed Woodward told me, on the record, that last week was not a proud one for Manchester United," White said on TALKSPORT. …
