OLDHAM caretaker boss Pete Wild hopes he can help take the Latics out of their 'constant adversity' as the club continue their hunt for a new manager.

The youth team coach took charge of the Latics for their 4-1 League Two win at Carlisle - the first match following the sacking of Frankie Bunn on Thursday.

Callum Lang gave Oldham the lead but Ben Whitfield drew the sides level before half-time. However, goals from Mohamed Maouche, Gevaro Nepomuceno and Chris O'Grady sealed an emphatic win, leaving the temporary boss delighted.

"I've got immense pride, it's been a long journey, but just pride for the fans, they travel in their numbers every single week," said Wild.
