BURY manager Ryan Lowe said he was happy to take a point after his side put in a 'gutsy' performance to draw 0-0 at bottom club Notts County.

A second-half penalty miss from County forward Jon Stead kept the game on level terms, in what was a difficult afternoon for the Shakers.

Bury struggled for chances in the first half as the home side dominated, with midfielder David Vaughan's 35-yard shot hitting the post after 33 minutes.

Neal Ardley's side again almost scored just two minutes later when a ball across the box looked to be dealt with by Adam Thompson, but the Bury defender slipped, with the ball landing at the feet of Kristian Dennis who fired wide.

The Shakers started the better after the break, with Chris Stokes allowed a free header inside the box from Nick Adams' free-kick, but the defender couldn't hit the target. …
