GROUPS of shoppers were robbed at knife point on two of Manchester's busiest streets for mobile phones, jewellery, cash and designer clothes.

Shoppers were targeted on Market Street, Exchange Square and Spear Street, where they were approached by two teenage boys and threatened.

One teenager, who was approached by two offenders on Exchange Square, was threatened with a knife and forced to hand over his designer baseball cap.

The spate of robberies began shortly after 5.20pm on Wednesday when two teenagers - one armed with a knife - approached a group of people on Market Street and threatened them before taking their mobile phones, jewellery, cash and designer clothing.

A short time later, around 5.30pm, a group of teenagers were approached by two offenders on Spear Street who threatened them with a knife and stole their mobile phones, cash and designer clothes. …
