Consumer borrowing rose in November - U.S. consumers slowed their pace of borrowing slightly in November, but it still grew by a robust $22.1 billion, hitting a new record of $3.98 trillion, the Federal Reserve said Tuesday.

The Fed said Tuesday that November's figure follows a $25 billion gain in October, which had been the biggest increase in 11 months. Economists had been forecasting more of a slowdown.

Borrowing for auto and student loans rose $17.4 billion in November, up from a gain of $15.6 billion in October. Borrowing in the category that covers credit cards slowed to a $4.8 billion increase, down from the $9.3 billion advance seen in October.

The Fed's monthly report on consumer borrowing does not include home mortgages or other loans backed by real estate.

Boeing deliveries hit record last year - Boeing Co. said Tuesday it delivered a record 806 aircraft in 2018, retaining the title of world's biggest planemaker for the seventh straight year. But the aerospace giant missed its full-year target of 810 to 815 due to supplier woes that delayed shipments.

European rival Airbus SE, which will report its numbers this week, met its own 800-jet target pending final audit but is certain to lag behind Boeing due to engine delays, industry sources said earlier.

Investors and analysts closely watch the number of planes Boeing turns over to airlines and leasing firms for hints on the company's cash flow and revenue.

Boeing also looked set to beat Airbus for aircraft orders in 2018 after booking 893 net orders, excluding cancellations in the year.

The company's shares rose 3.8 percent to close at $340.53.

Sun Country adds service at Lambert - Sun Country Airlines is adding two nonstop flights to its summer schedule from St. Louis Lambert International Airport -- to Portland, Ore., and to Minneapolis -- beginning June 7, and a sale is under way with some one-way tickets as low as $69.

The flights to Portland will be twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, the airport said Tuesday. …
