NAT130 - (Solitary-Confinement) (EXTENDED) VANCOUVER. x-21s. The B-C Court of Appeal has given the federal government more time to fix its solitary confinement law. The B-C Supreme Court struck down the law last January and gave the government a year to fix it, but the Appeal Court now says Ottawa can have until June 17th. The B-C Civil Liberties Association launched the challenge against indefinite solitary confinement and its litigation counsel Jay Aubrey says it can cause inmates to kill themselves. ("..all the time.") (SOURCE: The Canadian Press)
