BC02 - (Solitary-Confinement)

VANCOUVER. x-18s. B-C's Appeal Court has given Ottawa an extension on its deadline to enact a new solitary confinement law. The B-C Supreme Court struck down the law as unconstitutional last year and gave the federal government until this month to introduce a new one, but it now has until June 17th. The B-C Civil Liberties Association launched the legal challenge and its executive director Josh Paterson says a new law proposed by the government still doesn't address the group's concerns.
