New Man in Charge When Blues Visit Basement Club Town

FORMER Huddersfield Town defender Mark Hudson will be in charge of the team when they face City on Sunday after the club parted company with David Wagner last night.

The German left the club by mutual consent with the Terriers rock bottom of the Premier League, having ended a run of eight straight defeats with a 0-0 draw at Cardiff on Saturday.

Hudson, who played 102 times for Town before he retired in 2017, is currently in charge of Town's Elite Development Team.

He will manage the squad ahead of this weekend's clash but it has not been confirmed if he will be in charge for any longer than that.

In a club statement, Town chairman Dean Hoyle said: "He knows how to play our game at its best and he knows the squad, so he's perfectly placed to do so.

"Along with the technical staff, we'll give him all the support we can ahead of the game. …
