OLDHAM new boy Emmerson Whittel is in line to make his debut for the club in Sunday's Law Cup clash against Rochdale.

A former Keighley Cougars backrower, Whittel missed last weekend's victory over Barrow in Cumbria because of a longstanding family commitment, but is available to coach Scott Naylor for the home tie against Hornets.

Six new signings made their debut for the club in the win over Raiders - full-back Richie Hawkyard, winger Aaron Jones-Bishop, half-back Anthony Bowman, and forwards Scott Law, Jamie Greenwood and Ben Calland.

Trialist Harry Maders impressed in his two spells on the field and is likely to get further gametime against Rochdale, while Danny Grimshaw could also return to the fold. He missed the clash with Barrow because of a hamstring injury and will be monitored in training. …
