Arteta a Shock Addition to Huddersfield Town Wish List

PEP Guardiola's assistant Michael Arteta is being mentioned as one of the favourites to become new manager of Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers will host City on Sunday for their Premier League match without a boss after David Wagner left the club on Monday.

Youth team coach Mark Hudson will be in charge against the Blues, and he is one of the leading contenders to be given the role on a permanent basis.

But since former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce ruled himself out on Tuesday, several candidates have entered the frame, including Arteta.

The highly-respected 36-year-old Spaniard was a reported target for Arsenal last summer before they appointed Unai Emery.

Arteta, an accomplished midfielder with Everton and Arsenal, is however seen as a natural successor to Guardiola at the Blues and is unlikely to be tempted by a move to Town, who are rock bottom of the Premier League and look certain to be relegated. …
