I Didn't Expect 'Quiet' Ole to Be a Manager, Says Cole

FORMER United striker Andy Cole has admitted he is surprised that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has gone into management following his playing career.

The pair spent five-and-a-half seasons as team-mates at Old Trafford, winning four Premier Leagues, two FA Cups and a Champions League during that time.

Solskjaer is now enjoying success as United manager after replacing Jose Mourinho at the end of last year, winning all six of his games since taking over the role.

But Cole admits that he did not envisage Solskjaer making the transition into coaching once he hung up his boots and has been impressed by the job his former teammate has done.

"No, not at all," Cole said on The Debate when asked if he had expected Solskjaer to become a manager.
