NAT100 - (Mba-Film-Credit) SELKIRK, Manitoba. x-13s. The Manitoba government is making its tax credit for film and video productions permanent and hinting at more help for the industry in the spring budget. The credit was to expire at the end of this year, but Culture Minister Cathy Cox says it's proven effective in attracting projects and jobs. Two seasons of the C-B-C series "Burden of Truth" have been shot in Selkirk, just north of Winnipeg. Selkirk Mayor Larry Johannson says it's been quite a boon to his community. ("..come to town.") TAG: The province says the film industry has brought in 210-million dollars so far this fiscal year. It's expected to eventually reach 250-million dollars.
