A THIRD OF HOME OWNERS HAVE NO 'RAINY DAY' SAVINGS, SURVEY FINDS A THIRD (31%) of home owners have no "rainy day" fund for emergencies such as a boiler breakdown, a survey has found.

Of those with a savings pot, the average amount put by was £1,800, MYJOBQUOTE.co.uk found.

Two-fifths (41%) of those without a rainy day fund said they had previously had one but needed to dip into it and had not yet saved up again.
